How can I change my smile so that it looks better?
This answer to this question depends on your needs and specific concerns about your smile. For this reason, no two treatment plans are alike, as these needs and concerns can vary so widely. The idea is to bring beautiful and natural balance, symmetry, and harmony to the smile. We accomplish this by treating common concerns, not limited to those listed below:
- Yellow teeth
- Surface stains
- Deep discoloration
- Gaps between teeth
- Crowding and misalignment
- Chipped teeth
- Visible craze lines and cracks
- Teeth that appear too short
- Misshapen teeth
True to their name, smile makeovers generally involve a combination of treatments to bring attractive balance to your one-of-a-kind smile.
What treatments are best to whiten my teeth?
Our dentists recommend jumpstarting any whitening program with in-office laser or “power” whitening. We then provide you with custom-fit trays. When filled with whitening gel and worn as directed at home, these trays gradually lighten your teeth. You can support sustained results with “touch-ups.” We can provide you with more whitening gel during your routine hygiene visits. Alternative procedures may be recommended for very or deeply discolored teeth.
How do you treat very stained teeth?
Some types of discoloration are not amendable to professional whitening. Not all stains are “responsive” to whitening. Fortunately, there are alternatives. We may recommend dental bonding or porcelain veneers. These treatments do not lighten teeth but cover up stubborn stains and intrinsic (internal) discoloration. So, no one will see your stained teeth – all they see is your beautiful smile!

How do bonding/veneers treatment cover up stains?
Bonding involves applying a special material called composite resin directly to the stained teeth. The material is expertly shaped and then bonded or secured to the teeth. Veneers are typically made from porcelain. These porcelain coverings are also applied and fixed securely to the front surfaces of the teeth. Both bonding and veneers are versatile; they can be used to disguise many of the cosmetic imperfections mentioned above, ranging from chips to excess spaces between the teeth.
Can I straighten my teeth without braces?
Yes! If you have more extensive spacing issues and misalignment, Invisalign® may be available. Invisalign® uses a series of clear/transparent oral appliances (aligners) to gradually straighten your teeth. These are not visible when you smile. Even better, they can be removed every time you eat and, brush, and floss your teeth. It is both a cosmetic and hassle-free alternative to fixed metal braces.
Great! How can I get started?
Start by scheduling a consultation at Boulevard Dental. During your visit, we may find underlying problems that need to be resolved before moving forward with cosmetic treatments. Additionally, restorative dentistry may be necessary to rebuild damaged teeth. Porcelain dental inlays, onlays, crowns, and more are very strong and attractive. They combine the best of restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry.
