A deep dive into KöR® Whitening

Are there different types of stains?
Yes! Superficial surface or “extrinsic” stains are caused by the “usual suspects”; for instance, your daily coffee and tea habit. Internal or intrinsic stains are more stubborn. They may not respond well to most teeth whitening systems. This type of discoloration includes stains caused by excessive and early antibiotic use, trauma to teeth, and most other stains on your natural teeth untouched by normal whitening systems.
What makes KöR® special?
KöR® removes deep and severe discoloration that cannot be removed with other OTC and professional teeth whitening products. It is uniquely formulated to penetrate deep within the teeth, breaking down stain particles and supporting long-lasting results.
How does KöR® work?
KöR® is the product of years of research and development. It is specially designed to restore the natural capacity of the teeth to absorb bleaching agents. The ingredients fully penetrate the pigments and molecules responsible for staining. So, even very large molecules can be broken down into minuscule, colorless, white particles. This unique formulation lightens teeth that were formerly not candidates for professional whitening treatments, while supporting comfortable treatment among patients with a history of tooth sensitivity. Built-in desensitizers get to the root of the discomfort that has long been associated with bleaching products.
What can I expect from treatment?
Deep bleaching first involves conditioning the teeth. This step is accomplished safely at our office. The teeth are conditioned, so they can absorb oxygen from the whitening gel more readily. After the teeth have been prepared for treatment, special trays/oral appliances are made and custom-fitted to your mouth. Our team shows you how to fill those trays with KöR’s uniquely powerful whitening gel. Then, you simply slip the tray over your teeth. Made for maximum effectiveness, these trays seal in the gel. This feature minimizes the risk of complications associated with other types of trays, such as irritation to delicate oral tissues. The unique design also supports even application of the whitening gel to the teeth, so you can enjoy the most natural-looking results. Our team also advises you on how to wear and care for your trays throughout treatment.
How much can KöR® whiten my teeth?
Over the course of KöR Whitening treatment, patients have gradually whitened their teeth by up to 15 shades. Unlike other whitening methods, your results last longer as this system fully rejuvenates the ability of the teeth to absorb bleaching ingredients. Your teeth are more permeable to the effects of these powerful whiteners, which makes maintenance a breeze. All you need are periodic touch-ups at home to keep your teeth looking healthy and youthful.

Furthering his expertise, he completed an AEGD at the University of Florida. Dr. Clark excels in various dental procedures, from implants to Invisalign. He prioritizes trust and empathy in his patient relationships and is dedicated to ongoing education to deliver top-quality care.
Christopher Wujick, DMD
Dr. Christopher Wujick earned his B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Florida and completed his DMD. at their College of Dentistry in 2004. A dedicated academic, he stays current with hundreds of hours in continuing education across all areas of dentistry. Dr. Wujick is a Past President of the Tampa Bay and Florida Academies of General Dentistry. An active member of the Pinellas County Dental Association, ADA, AGD, and Florida Dental Association, he has served the Pinellas County Health Department since 2005 and organized the Give Kids a Smile program for three years.
Dr. Jason Kopakin
Dr. Jason Kopakin is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned both his bachelor’s degree and dental degree. He has advanced training and experience in implant restorations, Invisalign®, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Kopakin is a dedicated member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Florida Dental Association. He also served as the past president of the Tampa Bay Academy of General Dentistry, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the field of dentistry.
Dr. Lester Castillo
Dr. Lester Castillo has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida and earned his dental degree from the University of Florida in 2019. He has completed advanced training with a focus on Implant Dentistry and incorporates digital dentistry into his practice. His specialties include prevention, crowns and bridges, dentures, root canals, fillings, extractions, and implants. Dr. Castillo is passionate about continuing education and has completed a Fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
