How long does Invisalign treatment take?

How does the process work?
We’ll start by evaluating your teeth and jaw to determine the problems that need to be fixed. Then, we’ll use 3D imaging technology to plan your procedure and calculate your tooth movements to achieve optimal aesthetics and function. We’ll set goals for your treatment and create a series of aligners to help you achieve them. The aligners should be worn for a minimum of 20 to 22 hours a day, allowing time for removal during eating and oral hygiene. After wearing a set of aligners for two weeks, you’ll switch to the next set in your series. This process continues until the end of your treatment.
What problems can Invisalign fix?
Like braces, Invisalign can correct crooked, gapped, and crowded teeth, as well as problems with your bite. However, it works best for mild to moderate bite issues, including underbites caused by poor tooth positioning. “Skeletal” underbites, i.e., underbite problems caused by the size or position of your jaw, may require traditional metal braces or corrective jaw surgery to fix.
Can I use Invisalign aligners only for the bottom teeth?
Yes. When you use one aligner for either the top or bottom of your teeth, it’s called single-arch treatment. We’ll scan your lower teeth to map out a treatment plan that repositions only them. Single-arch treatment works best when correcting cosmetic problems, such as a few crooked teeth. If you have problems with occlusion, it’s best to treat both arches to ensure your upper and lower teeth align properly to stabilize your bite.
